Hi, I’m JD — I am Maple Fitness.
A few years ago, I made the leap from the desk to the gym. Seeing my family age made me realise how much fitness shapes our future, and I want to help people stay as independent as possible as they get older.
I’ve worked with many older adults, and I know how to respect the history of your body while building a strong future for it.
Being middle-aged myself, I’ve had my share of injuries, so if you’re coming back from something, I’ve been there, and I can help.
I’ve also spent years in sports like ice hockey, gymnastics, and powerlifting. That experience helps me coach good technique, program intelligently, and build real strength.
Whether you’re getting started, rebuilding, or chasing performance, I’m here to support your journey.
Where can you train with me?
Westside Community Care
I run LiiT with JD every Friday at 10:30 am - 11:15 am. The class is $5 with proceeds going to help run the various programs that the centre provides to the community. It’s low-impact and open to all.
Just Fitness Redbank
I currently have a contract at Just Fitness Redbank and conduct many sessions there. The Gym is 24 hours, so you can generally book me anytime I have availability. The gym is only open to members. I also run group classes many nights of the week. Give me a call for specifics.
Home Gym
I run sessions out of my home gym. A solid home setup with the key gear (rack, Smith, cables, barbells/plates, plus some cardio), so we can train properly without the busy gym vibe.
1:1 Personal Training (50 min) – Starting at $75
A dedicated one-on-one session. We'll focus on strength, mobility, endurance, or sport-specific skills — whatever moves you toward your fitness goal.
